Project Update: Building Momentum on Site
Source: Acon Industries
Work is powering ahead on our Tauriko site as we move closer to bringing Acon’s asphalt plant online.
Recent weeks have seen a major lift in progress across the board. Kerb and aprons are now complete, and water services are fully connected across the site. Underground power is nearly finished, with both cabling and data reaching our plant offices. Gas reticulation is also in place, with final meter installation scheduled for later in the month.
On the roading front, we’re on track to have the arterial road at basecourse level by week’s end. This will tie into the contracting yard, with membrane sealing scheduled to follow shortly.
Foundations are also well underway. Consent was approved earlier this month, and work began almost immediately, with the first pour locked in for this Friday. Next week will see piling work begin for our offices and laboratory — an important milestone as we stand up the core of our operations.
Arenm Technologies Ltd. has begun building the plant's Motor Control Centre and Electrical Works Ltd have completed the Main Switchboard ready for installation. Plant assembler TP Mechanical Engineering, and an Almix technician are scheduled for 22nd September to commence plant construction, marking a critical milestone in the project's evolution.
We’re proud of the progress being made and excited to see the site taking shape. With every week, we’re one step closer to delivering high-quality asphalt manufacturing capability for the Bay of Plenty and beyond.
