Project Update: Laying Foundations

Source: Acon Industries

Another week at our Tauriko site at everything is well on track.

The entranceway is prepped and now awaits vehicle crossing inspection before the next pour, clearing the way for smoother site access. Out on the paving front, the team is moving hundreds of tonnes of basecourse this week, keeping us on track to have the surface ready for membrane by week’s end.

Concrete works are progressing well. The spillceptor pads are being fine-tuned to final height, with Precision due on site to set the lids ahead of pouring. Gas pad construction is also near completion, while plumbing and gas trades are carrying out final checks to ensure all services are in place.

Structural progress is equally strong. Inspection documentation for the structure pads has been received and approved, with Rapid Structure on site to set profiles. RZG is into the home stretch, with three pads left to complete next week. Site office installation is also on the horizon, with setup expected within the next two weeks.

Overall, the build continues to advance across multiple fronts, with critical groundwork and foundations steadily falling into place. Each milestone brings us closer to standing up Acon’s state-of-the-art asphalt plant and delivering a significant new capability for the Bay of Plenty region.
