We're looking for an experienced Supervisor to lead our surfacing operations across asphalt and chipseal projects. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in the field, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in delivering high-quality outcomes safely and efficiently.

About the Role

As a Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing multiple projects and crews to ensure work is delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standard. You'll work closely with clients, delivery leaders, foremen, and crews to ensure successful project outcomes while maintaining strong commercial and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate surfacing crews across multiple projects.

  • Plan labour, plant, equipment, and materials to maximise productivity.

  • Develop and oversee site-specific work plans.

  • Monitor programme delivery, budgets, quality, and productivity.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

  • Carry out site inspections and quality checks.

  • Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

  • Mentor and develop Foremen, Leading Hands, and crew members.

  • Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

  • Maintain accurate reporting, documentation, and project records.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience supervising asphalt, chipseal, civil construction, or infrastructure projects.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.

  • Excellent planning, organisation, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Sound knowledge of health and safety requirements.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and changing work programmes.

  • Commercial awareness and a focus on delivering profitable outcomes.

  • A commitment to quality workmanship and continuous improvement.

  • Full New Zealand driver's licence (Class 2, 4 or 5 advantageous).
