Project Update: Acon’s Asphalt Plant

Exciting progress is underway at the Acon Industries asphalt plant site in Tauriko as we move closer to commissioning. Here's a snapshot of what’s happening on the ground this week.

Site Works in Motion

  • Kerbs are being installed this week.

  • The existing entranceway is being removed, making way for the new design.

  • Subbase shaping has begun, preparing the foundation for the arterial roads around the plant pads.

  • These arterial roads will support heavy vehicle movement and long-term site access.

Foundation Design Update

  • Our engineering team is finalising the foundation design.

  • After undergoing its final reviews, the design is now expected to be submitted tomorrow, with a turnaround by the end of the week.

  • This is a critical milestone that will allow us to begin vertical construction.

Countdown to Plant Assembly

  • If everything progresses as planned in just four weeks we will be looking to stand up the plant - a major step toward operational readiness.

  • Once started, the plant build will take approximately two weeks stand up, thanks to our modular design and pre-prepared infrastructure.

We’re proud of the momentum and grateful to our contractors, engineers, and project team for keeping things moving. Stay tuned for more updates as we move into the next phase of construction.
