Ngā Mahi | The Opportunity
As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Bookkeeper to join our team. You will ensure financial transactions are accurately recorded, accounts remain up to date, and reporting is delivered in a timely manner. You’ll work closely with our management team to provide financial visibility that supports smart decision-making and operational efficiency. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
Ngā Haepapa | Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day accounting functions including AP, AR, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
Process supplier invoices, purchase orders, credit notes, and staff expenses.
Prepare and process payment runs, allocate incoming payments, processing invoices and reconcile accounts.
Manage vendor and customer records, following up on outstanding debtors to maintain healthy aging.
Generate monthly reports including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
Credit control.
Assist with month-end and year-end processes including journals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Maintain the fixed asset register.
Support cashflow management, budgeting, and forecasting.
Ensure compliance with GST, PAYE, FBT, and other statutory returns.
Maintain organised and accessible financial records.
Manage payroll processing and employee records (IRD/KiwiSaver compliance).
Liaise with external accountants and advisors when required.
Provide general office administration including ordering supplies.
Support ad hoc finance and admin tasks as needed.
Ōu Pūkenga | About You
Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accounts administrator (minimum 3 years).
Strong working knowledge of accounting software (Xero preferred).
Experience with payroll systems (e.g., iPayroll) and knowledge of employment legislation is advantageous.
Good understanding of GST, PAYE, and compliance requirements.
Understanding of basic accounting principles.
High level of accuracy with figures, excellent attention to detail, and strong organisational skills.
Confident using Microsoft Excel and other Office products.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with staff, customers, and external partners.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent experience.
